The Boat - About Tari II

Our boat is a 42 feet strong aluminum sailboat built in Italy in 1980. It was set-up for voyages in cold areas. Specifically for Tierra del Fuego.

Has accomodations to take a total of 7 crewmembers comfortable under deck.Below it is well heated, has comfortable bunks and a spacious living room.Heating below deck with marine fuel Reflex heater. 2 head compartments.Comfortable galley and dinette. Audio system for CDs, MP3. Reference library with english, german and spanish language books. Comfortable bunks with bedding. Maximum capacity 7 crewmembers.

All navigation equipment needed is there including satellite communications. Navigation equipment: GPS, Echosounder, Radar, Knotmeter, Barometer, satellite weather forecasts info. Comunications: VHF base, VHF handies, HF-SSB, Iridium satellite telephone with permanent global coverage.

Main: Mercedes Benz - Nanni 40 CV main engine. Auxiliar outboard engine 9.9 HP. 2 Auxiliary inflatable dinghies.

Safety: Equiment and Pyrotechnics as per international standards. Automatic liferaft, personal lifejackets and harness for all embarking people, Epirb.

Autonomy: fresh water for 10 days and fuel for 600 nautical.
