Antarctica New Year - Air Cruise - Useful Tips

Preparing for Antarctica

Antarctic weather can be harsh, unpredictable and potentially dangerous. Weather changes may occur from one minute to another. This is a constant phenomenon which you will experience while traveling to the White Continent. Despite modern technology and advanced weather forecasting systems, weather is still highly difficult to predict. Though we are committed to adhering to our
itinerary as closely as possible, schedules may have to be suddenly changed without notice, thus causing delays or shorter landings than expected,
or even the cancellation of a landing while the weather remains difficult or below essential safety standards. Safety is always the paramount at any Antarctic voyage. Please bear this in mind at all times. Weather is the ruler all the time and we must play by its rules.
The average temperature in Spring and Summer months in the Antarctic Penin-sula area is about 0°C (32°F), although sometimes it may get a little lower because of the wind chill. Both rain and snow are possible during this period.
